Design Pro was started in January 2008 by Tanya Pedersen. Tanya graduated magna cum laude from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a Bachelor's Degree in Art with a specialization in Communication Design.
Ever since she was a little girl, Tanya knew she wanted to do something artistic for a living. She would draw on whatever she could find...napkins, place mats, etc. Tanya took several art classes at a church when she was younger. Art was always her favorite subject in school, and she always did well in it.
Tanya's love for art continued throughout her high school and college years. She attended Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois and majored in Art her first two years of college. After graduating from Lake Land with an Associate's Degree in Art, Tanya transferred to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and majored in Communication Design. While attending Southern, Tanya made sure to take a wide range of courses that would help with her career. She took several figure drawing and painting classes to gain knowledge about composition and the structure of the human body. She also took copywriting classes to study advertising and writing for advertising. Tanya has a wide range of knowledge including the design process, art and design history, typography, print technology, basic web design, and creating and presenting design campaigns.
Tanya created a children's book for her senior thesis project. Tanya can do many different styles of design, but her favorite is vector illustration. She specializes in vector portraits.
